Moments "Essences of a Woman" (Profits to FAMSA)
The ever-popular Ladies Night was held on Tuesday 4 July 2006. It had a new coordinator and format this year. Lynn Giles of Moments Event Management presented this event for the Women in the Garden Route as a token of appreciation from Knysna for the role that they play in modern day society and to celebrate the dynamics of this woman - robust and simplistic by day and elegant and refined by night. Says Lynn: "The name change depicts the many facetted essences of a woman, especially in the family nucleus where she plays a variety of roles."
The evening took the format of a formal dinner with Head girl Tammy Turner, owner of Hungry Heads at the helm, being the official Celebrity Guest Caterer.
Movers and Shakers, were moving to the groove and shaking up a storm of Cocktails extraordinaire!
The main theme of the evening was 'The World is your Oyster!' The underlying theme beng 'Wine, Women and Song'. There was a kaleidoscope of activities on the evening which revolved around the Essences of a Woman - a celebrity guest speaker, music, entertainment, dancing, lucky draws and giveaways.
Entertainment included the much anticipated Battle of the G Clefs - a piano marathon between classical pianists Florence Hannaford and Ann Carrol. Local schools were participating in song while local Latin American dance Master, Chris Steyl was strutting his stuff. The highlight of the evening were The Auction.
Amongst other sought after items on auction were a painting specially commissioned by local artist Lyn Beaton called 'Two heads are better than One'. The profits of the evening went to FAMSA Knysna. "It was a fun, insightful yet upmarket evening for the women of Knysna."
Every woman walked away with a gift bag to the value of no less than half the ticket's worth. To involve the community, women were welcomed to buy another for a woman who had made a fundamental difference to the family nucleus. It was an opportunity to honour these women for the role they have played in the family.
Corporate tables decorated their tables according to the theme 'The world is your Oyster!' There were fabulous prizes to be won.
